Krippe im Kurpark

The manger, flock of sheep, and woman with children on the way to the manager were carved by local sculptor Thomas Rauch.
The artist started work on the “Krippe im Kurpark” (nativity scene in the spa park) in 2010. After finishing the holy family, he produced a figure every year: the holy three kings, the shepherds, the angel with the spread wings, a flock of sheep with a shepherd and a woman with children.
The entire nativity scene with shepherd now weighs a total of more than 10 tons and, during Bad Gleichenberg Advent, can be found at its special spot under the Giant Sequoia, which was planted in 1872 in the historic spa park.
